Employee Relations Specialist

The Role...

We are currently recruiting for an Employee Relations Specialist to join our HR Shared Services Team in Bracknell.

As the ER Specialist within the team, you'll be trusted to use your expert knowledge of employment legislation and procedures to lead the HR Officer, keeping them on top of business demand and ensuring compliance with internal audit expectations. You will advise managers in relation to policy, HR best practice and legislation, managing a portfolio of cases which includes the full spectrum of ER-related matters, inclusive of complex employment law challenges. 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to use their experience to turn strategy into action by leading and motivating a team. Please note, from time to time, you may need to attend different locations to support investigations.

Duties include but won’t be limited to:

• Day to day management and work allocation for HR Officer
• Developing and implementing new ideas to drive continuous improvements to customer service and efficiency
• Lead on complex ER cases, including Employment Tribunals, Grievances, restructures and ACAS subjects, utilising team for support
• In partnership with the HR Services Manager, lead on conducting a regular review of HR policies and procedures, benchmarking external market and ensuring they reflect any legislative and business change
• Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and HR best practice
• Owning the HR Services escalation process, effectively communicating with relevant stakeholders and driving issues through to resolution
• Ensure the effective delivery of a 'shared services' function to UK & ROI arm of the business, promoting and implementing Manager and Employee self service with particular regard to standard ER and employment lifecycle processes in line with company policies and procedures

Skills and Experience...

• CIPD level 5 to 7 (or equivalent)
• Currently operating as an ER Advisor or have generalist HR experience 
• Excellent team working, relationship building and influencing skills
• Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and able to demonstrate covering all elements of the employee life cycle 
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to deliver constructive, supportive and accurate employment advice 
• Able to deliver an honest, positive and highly confidential service to the business 
• Strong planning, organisational and analytical skills
